Property Defense

Because Results Matter

A skilled property defense attorney can often find paths to success where a less knowledgeable and less experienced attorney cannot. Ashbach Law Offices, LLC regularly represents clients charged with property crimes, like theft and shoplifting, trespassing, malicious mischief, vehicle prowling, among many others. Great results often include dismissals or reductions to lesser offenses or infractions.

If you need strong, effective defense of property crime allegations, please contact our office today to learn what we can do for you and what we have done for others in similar situations. A criminal conviction can have severe impacts, including jail time, fines, probation, disqualification from employment, loss of employment, and other issues. Below are some sample practice areas in which Ashbach Law Offices, LLC regularly provides defense for its clients charged with property crimes.

Theft and Shoplifting

The most common property crime allegation we deal with is probably a theft or shoplifting allegation. Often these are the result of a simple lapse in judgment, an honest mistake, or someone seeking a thrill. The impacts of a theft or shoplifting conviction can be severe. For example, a theft conviction could disqualify someone from working in the medical field entirely. We often have clients come to our office in tears because of the stress and fear a shoplifting accusation brings. The important thing to remember is that even if the incident was captured on video, there may be a successful defense to your case, and we can help find that. To learn more about our theft and shoplifting defense, including how we have helped mothers, children, government employees, medical personnel and others through a theft accusation, please visit our Theft and Shoplifting page.

Malicious Mischief

The next most common property accusation we see is probably malicious mischief, which is basically the angry destruction of someone else’s property. Malicious Mischief is often coded as a Domestic Violence crime, for instances where the property that was claimed to be damaged/destroyed was community property (or shared property) or the separate property of a significant other. To learn more about our malicious mischief practice, and some great results, please visit our Malicious Mischief page.

Trespassing

We also see a lot of trespassing cases, which are split into degrees. First degree is trespassing in a building while Second degree is typically trespassing on land. Often these cases arise out of casinos, including where a person has self-barred themselves from the casino. These cases often do have legitimate, winning defenses. To learn more about our defense practice for trespassing charges, and results, please visit our Trespassing page.
